In 1987, an old church found new life as a community arts centre.
Over the years, these walls have seen thousands of great concerts and events, but they are giving way under the strain of their age. When it came to the inevitable decision to relocate or rebuild, we choose to stay put, and build a plan that will help breathe new life into the West End Cultural Centre and into one of Winnipeg's most diverse but struggling neighborhoods.
We are well on our way to rebuilding in 2008.
When it's done, the new West End Cultural Centre will have a larger concert hall, a hall for community programming and intimate concerts, full wheelchair access, and much better patron services. Our goal is to be Canada's first "green" music centre.
